Triumph Rocket III Touring: The Full Package

I recently had the privilege of testing out the 2008 Triumph Rocket III Touring model. NeeI must admit that I was incredibly impressed! This was definitely an experience that I didn't expect. With the mild rumble of a tractor and a dress of sleek touring options trimmed with chrome, this Touring model sure turned heads at the cruiser rallies. Most people do not expect the any more out of the Touring model than a big dresser, but when the throttle is whacked open you better hang on! This seemingly subtle beast creates 154ft/lbs of torque at just 2,000 rpm! That kind of torque makes this motorcycle very easy to fully load.

Now, with 154ft/lbs of torque and 107bhp one might think "well how are you supposed to slow it down?" I must say that I nearly went through the windshield once or twice from anticipating the braking abilities of normal cruisers. I would grab a handful, thinking that I would need a parachute to slow this thing down, but that was far from necessary. The 4 piston Nissin front brake calipers and dual 320mm floating discs makes bringing the Rocket III Touring to a hault nearly effortless.

The Rocket III Touring has wonderful wind coverage for those lengthy road trips. The windscreen allows for great wind protection, in turn causing far less rider fatigue. The less the rider fatiques, the safer and longer one can ride the motorcycle. A chrome-trimmed windscreen is accurately positioned on the motorcycle so it doesn't distort vision while still providing excellent coverage. Triumph also understands that riders like versatility and might prefer the wind in their face at times. That is why they designed this motorcycle with a quick release screen to satisfy all rider preferences.

This outstanding road machine incorporates impressive handling characteristics and a sleek touring design into a well-orchestrated package that sits above a liquid-cooled, 2300cc 3-cyclinder engine. Needless to say, the Rocket III Touring model a ride to experience. The Performance Cycle showroom has a demonstration model for interested customers, so come visit us and see if this Triumph is right for you!
